Description

Gaseous particle detectors are widely used ones in high energy physics experiments. Our Gaseous Detector Laboratory in the Wigner RCP has a unique capability in development, construction, field testing, optimization and calibration for these devices. The operation of these detectors needs well organized properly working subsystems, which are all available in the infrastructure. Various types of high purity gas mixtures (even flammable ones), mobile gas supply, low and high voltage power supplies, and several data acquisition and monitoring systems are all part of the laboratory. Construction and reparation works on MPGD detectors such as GEM-s can be done in one of our clean rooms. Measurements can be performed even within magnetic fields, with radioactive sources, with a cosmic ray tracker, or in the low background underground tunnels.
